Ademola Adeyeba’s Mission to Help Black Youth Rise

At the heart of this shift is 1000 Black Boys, a social enterprise that believes Black boys and young Black men deserve more than to just survive—they deserve to thrive. In a society that often tells them who they can’t be, 1000 Black Boys is showing them exactly who they can be.

The Visionary Behind the Movement

The story of 1000 Black Boys begins with its founder, Ademola Adeyeba, a Mindset, Transformation, and Leadership coach who turned his pain into power. Born in Nigeria and arriving in the UK at age nine, Ademola’s early life was marked by deep struggles. He was bullied, later became a bully, battled mental health challenges, and even attempted suicide. By 17, he had run away from home and nearly lost his life. But instead of letting those experiences define him, he allowed them to refine him.

With two decades of experience in business and leadership, Ademola channelled his energy into building not one, but two impactful ventures: the people development company Get Hench, and the life-changing initiative, 1000 Black Boys. His personal mission? To see people—especially young Black men—living inspiring and purposeful lives.

More Than an Organisation—A Movement with Purpose

1000 Black Boys is more than a name—it’s a bold declaration. The mission is to empower 1,000 (and many more) Black boys and young men aged 10 to 25 to discover their identity, purpose, and voice. It’s about rewriting the script society often writes for them, and replacing it with a vision rooted in greatness.

The organisation works across five key pillars, each designed to holistically address the challenges Black youth face and empower them to overcome with strength and vision.

1. Events That Empower and Connect

The heartbeat of 1000 Black Boys lies in its events—spaces that ignite minds and open hearts. From the Inspiration & Empowerment Events, where young people meet successful role models who share their backgrounds, to Family Events that offer healing and remembrance for families affected by youth violence, these gatherings are transformational.

They’re not just talks—they’re catalysts. They plant seeds of possibility and cultivate belief in futures beyond statistics.

2. Mentorship That Builds from the Inside Out

The mentorship programme is a game-changer. Guided by Ademola’s leadership coaching, it offers more than career guidance. It delves into emotional resilience, dismantles self-doubt, and fosters deep, internal growth.

What makes it unique is that parents are also supported. Because healing and empowerment don’t happen in isolation—they happen in community.

In recognising that you can’t heal children without healing families, 1000 Black Boys offers therapeutic services, particularly to parents who’ve experienced the unthinkable: losing a child to violence. But the support doesn’t stop there. More families are proactively seeking help to create stronger bonds, emotional safety, and open communication at home.

Representation matters. That’s why 1000 Black Boys created a TV show on LCBN TV (Freeview 271), showcasing Black excellence and telling stories that uplift, educate, and inspire. From culture to creativity to career success, the show rewrites the narrative, one episode at a time.

It’s a counter-narrative to the headlines. It’s a celebration of who we are—and who we are becoming.

The next frontier is a digital platform—a one-stop hub for mentorship, support, resources, and opportunities. It will extend the organisation’s reach beyond in-person events, making empowerment accessible to every young Black boy with an internet connection.

Mindset of an Entrepreneur
Starts: Saturday 17 May 2025

• Group 1 (Ages 17–20): 9am–11am

• Group 2 (Ages 13–15): 12pm–2pm

Mindset to Excel (for alumni)
Starts: Wednesday 21 May 2025

• Group 3: 5pm–7pm

Each programme runs for six sessions, priced at a reduced £97. Led by Ademola Adeyeba himself, they offer tools for self-leadership, vision planning, and strategic growth.

Past Events:

On Saturday 22nd March 2025, 1000 Black Boys launched its first event of the year in partnership with The Pimlico Million—a powerful in-person gathering titled Entrepreneurship & Creativity Unleashed.

This dynamic event brought together aspiring young creators, parents, and seasoned entrepreneurs for a day of insight, connection, and inspiration. With a focus on turning ideas into income and creativity into career paths, it marked the beginning of a bold new event series aimed at unlocking the entrepreneurial spirit in Black youth across the UK.
