From celebrating Black excellence at the Grammys to honoring the legacies of music legends Roberta Flack and Gwen McCrae, this month has been filled with inspiration and remembrance. I also explored the incredible work of the Black Leadership Group UK, the resilience of Paralympian Anne Wafula Strike, and the complexities of life for Black women over 50.

Black Female Social Workers Leading the Anti-Racism Movement

How a group of black female social workers are using a reflective model of group supervision to provide each other with the tools to challenge racism in their workplaces

The room was packed with black, female social workers, practice educators and lecturers listening and conversing openly, unfiltered.

Within the safety of each other’s company, they spoke of missed promotions, enduring racist remarks from professionals, feeling alienated, their traumas and the barriers they met when creating black female-only spaces.
