On 6th October 2024, multidisciplinary artist Apex Zero will be taking to EartH, Hackney for an unforgettable Hip Hop Dance Theatre production and visual/sonic exhibition.

Set to be a monumental evening of stand-out performances from musicians, dancers, poets, visual and sonic artists, ‘Drummer Warrior Storyteller’ is a living album that embodies Nigerian author Chinua Achebe’s perception of storytelling.

The Drummer calls the people, the Warrior fights the war, the Storyteller recounts the events, creating history, forming memories and giving meaning to the survival of those who endure. ‘Drummer Warrior Storyteller’ centres African Caribbean perspectives, exploring experiences of oppression & liberation of diasporic, migrant and marginalised people in London and beyond.

Pushing the boundaries of what a music album is, ‘Drummer Warrior Storyteller’ fuses music with film, dance, photography, metalwork, painting & more to produce a powerful experience that will spark important discussions.

Releasing Part One [film and music] in 2022 and Part Two [music, event & full film] in 2023, the EartH takeover marks the first steps towards Part Three of ‘Drummer Warrior Storyteller’.

With new collaborators on board, the album’s community continues to expand in scale and scope, breathing more dynamism into the project’s ever evolving life force.
