Polly and Damian’s Fight for Survival: A Call for Help

In the heart of Jamaica, a family is grappling with an unimaginable crisis, desperately trying to save two of their own.

Polly, a devoted mother and community pillar, and Damian, a bright young man with a promising future, are both hospitalized and fighting for their lives. Their story is one of heartbreak, resilience, and a community’s call for help.

Polly’s Legacy of Love and Service

Polly’s life has been defined by selflessness and service. A mother of five, she was widowed at a young age yet managed to raise her children with unyielding love and resilience. Her devotion extended beyond her family; as a teacher in rural Jamaica and underserved areas of Kingston, Polly touched countless lives.

Her classrooms were not just places of learning but sanctuaries for children in need. She often provided food from her own limited resources and opened her home to those without shelter. A cornerstone of her church and community, Polly has been a beacon of support for decades.

Today, Polly is facing her own battle. After suffering a stroke and contracting a severe bacterial infection, she is in intensive care, her life hanging in the balance.

Damian’s Fight to Rebuild

Polly’s grandson Damian, just 22 years old, is also fighting for survival after a senseless act of violence. While visiting his biological mother in Kingston, Damian became the victim of an attempted robbery. He was shot, suffering critical injuries that include the loss of a kidney, severe liver and intestinal damage, and spinal trauma.

Damian’s injuries have left him in need of extensive medical care and a long road to recovery. Known for his intelligence, compassion, and bright future, Damian’s life has been irrevocably altered by this tragic event.

A Family’s Struggle with Mounting Costs

The healthcare system in Jamaica places a heavy burden on families, requiring payment for every aspect of care—from medical supplies to life-saving procedures. Despite exhausting their savings and receiving support from family and friends, Polly and Damian’s family is now overwhelmed by the financial strain.

The costs have already surpassed £25,000 and continue to climb as both Polly and Damian require ongoing, intensive care.

How You Can Help

In this time of crisis, the family is appealing to the kindness and generosity of others. Contributions are urgently needed to cover:

Medical Expenses: Paying for hospital bills, procedures, and essential treatments for Polly and Damian.

Rehabilitation: Funding Damian’s long-term recovery and the specialized care he needs.

Supportive Equipment: Providing Polly with the tools and resources necessary for her hopeful recovery.

Every donation, no matter how small, can make a profound difference.

Why Your Support Matters

Polly has spent her life giving selflessly to others, dedicating herself to uplifting her family, students, and community. Now, she needs that same compassion and support in return.

Damian, a young man with so much potential, has been dealt a devastating blow. With help, he can begin to rebuild his life and look toward a hopeful future.

A Call to Action

This family’s story is a powerful reminder of the strength of community and the impact of compassion. By coming together, we can provide the financial and emotional support needed to give Polly and Damian a fighting chance.

Your generosity can help ease the burden on this family and offer hope in the face of overwhelming adversity. Contributions can be made directly through their fundraising platform, and every act of kindness brings them closer to the care and recovery they desperately need.

Polly and Damian’s fight is far from over, but with the support of others, there is hope. Together, we can make a difference.
