UK-Based Jamaican Nathaniel Peat Honoured by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Jamaica

Montego Bay, Jamaica – June 2024: Nathaniel Peat, a dedicated advocate for Jamaica and its diaspora, received a prestigious award from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Jamaica. This award acknowledges Peat’s unwavering efforts to support Jamaica and its global community.

Ambassador Shiela Montieth praised Peat for his continuous work in strengthening connections between Jamaicans at home and abroad. His initiatives have significantly enhanced collaboration, fostering unity within the diaspora.

Presented by Minister Kamina Johnson-Smith during the 10th biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference, the award highlights the vital role the diaspora plays in Jamaica’s development.

Peat, also a representative on the Global Jamaica Diaspora Council for the South United Kingdom, expressed deep gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing the impact of Jamaicans worldwide.

Peat’s efforts align with the National Diaspora Policy’s goals, including empowerment, societal cohesion, and economic prosperity. He invites community leaders and fellow diaspora members to join him in shaping Jamaica’s future.
