PLIAS Resettlement Ltd is pleased to announce the 3rd DARDR/DVA & Criminal Justice Summit 2026, taking place on Friday 27 November 2026 at Brent Civic Centre, Wembley, London.
This year’s Summit will bring together professionals, academics, policymakers, practitioners, safeguarding and criminal justice leaders, community organisations, advocates and people with lived experience for a critical conversation about whose voices are heard, whose voices are missing, and how systems can do better.
Under the theme:
“The Voice of the Child, Young Person & Service User”
The Summit will place children, young people and service users at the centre of discussions around domestic abuse, violence, safeguarding, trauma, exploitation and the criminal justice system.
The event will be delivered as a hybrid conference, allowing participants to attend either in person or virtually, and will be CPD Accredited.

FROM LISTENING TO ACTION
The 2026 Summit will explore what it means to move beyond consultation towards meaningful participation, co-production and accountability.
At its heart is a simple but important question:
What happens when we truly listen to the people most affected by the systems designed to support and protect them?
The Summit will examine how lived experience can be embedded more effectively within policy, safeguarding, prevention, intervention, service design and organisational decision-making.
Key conversations will include:
The Voice of the Child in Reviews & Safeguarding
Exploring how children’s perspectives can be meaningfully embedded within DARDRs, DHRs, safeguarding reviews and related processes.
Young People, Violence & Exploitation
Examining youth violence, criminal exploitation, online harm and opportunities for early intervention.
Trauma, Mental Health & Emotional Wellbeing
Considering trauma-informed approaches across education, policing, healthcare and social care.
The Service User Experience
Exploring how survivors and service users can have greater influence over service design, delivery and decision-making.
Race, Culture & Intersectionality
Recognising the ways in which race, heritage, faith, disability, immigration status and inequality can shape experiences and outcomes.
Institutional Accountability & Systemic Change
Considering how organisations can move from listening to measurable action, accountability and meaningful organisational change.

The partnership brings together civic leadership, grassroots community knowledge, youth engagement, violence reduction and lived experience.
Brent Civic Centre provides an accessible civic setting at the heart of Wembley, where residents, community organisations, public services and local decision-makers come together.
Hosting the Summit within this civic environment reflects the importance of connecting professional and policy discussions with the communities most affected by safeguarding, violence, domestic abuse and criminal justice issues.
Step Up Hub brings a strong grassroots perspective, working with young people and communities to create spaces where young people can discuss issues that matter to them and support targeted interventions that are co-produced with young people.
I AM Brent brings a community and violence-reduction perspective, bringing together local grassroots organisations to address the causes and effects of violence affecting young people. Its work includes gathering community views, involving communities in the design of activities, strengthening collaboration and improving access to support.
Together, the partnership supports a shared ambition:
Children, young people and service users should not simply be spoken about. They should be meaningfully heard and reflected in the systems designed to support and protect them.

WHY THIS CONVERSATION MATTERS
Children and young people can experience domestic abuse, violence, exploitation and trauma in ways that may remain unseen or insufficiently understood.
Their experiences can sometimes become secondary to those of adults, while service users may encounter systems that make decisions about their lives without adequately involving them.
The Summit will provide an opportunity to explore how organisations can strengthen child-centred and service-user-informed approaches across Domestic Abuse Related Death Reviews, Domestic Homicide Reviews, safeguarding systems and criminal justice responses.
The emphasis will be on embedding lived experience into policy, prevention, intervention and systemic reform.
