NAOMI OSAKA GRACES VOGUE HONG KONG

“WOMEN IN SPORTS”

DIGITAL COVER

Even while taking a step back from competing on the WTA Tour, Naomi Osaka is racking up the accomplishments this summer. Her most recent is a digital cover for Vogue Hong Kong’s Olympic “Women in Sports” special, along with an exclusive interview about her challenges, achievements and motivations.

On the cover, the 23-year-old sparkles in a white David Koma bodysuit and a matching translucent button down. The look is completed with a pair of glistening tennis racquet statement earrings, fitting for the four-time Grand Slam champion. Her facial expression is classic Naomi Osaka: calm, cool, and collected, and like always, leaving fans wanting to know more about the young tennis star.

In her interview, Osaka opens up about the challenges that come with fame and mental pressure. Her achievements both on and off the court have brought a never wavering spotlight, and Osaka has certainly dealt with the darker ramifications of it. Still, she carries her head high and is learning how to do what’s best for her.

“I try to surround myself with people that know me best. At the end of the day, the only opinion that matters is your own and [that of] the people close to you,"

Osaka told Vogue.

After prioritizing her mental health and withdrawing from Roland Garros and Wimbledon, Osaka is preparing to return to competition in a big way; She will represent Japan in the Tokyo Olympics. And as she continues to navigate the ups and downs of being the world No. 2 and a role model to so many, Osaka will always stay true to herself.

“It is worth it to fight for what I believe in.”
