Grenada History

Only 40 out of 168 Africans destined for Grenada survived. The insurance claim was denied because they died of natural causes, starvation.

Peter Samuel (1888-May 23, 1961), the first Caretaker of the Belair Government School. He was succeeded by his son, Lazarus “Mr Laza” Samuel (May 9, 1929-March 17, 2018), upon his death. He is the grandfather of my wife, Helen Parker (née Samuel)

He was also the Caretaker of the Belair Presbyterian School, at Carriere (near the Presbyterian Cemetery), the predecessor of the Belair Government School.
